Our client is a long-established British manufacturing and technology business, specialising in the design and production of signage, digital displays and platform furniture for the rail and wider transport sectors. With a strong heritage and reputation for quality, they supply products to major operators, contractors and transport authorities across the UK and internationally.
The Role

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to lead business development within the rail signage and infrastructure division. This is a high-profile role, working with train operating companies, contractors, consultants and transport bodies to deliver both bespoke and off-the-shelf solutions.

You will take ownership of the sector, developing winning sales strategies, securing new contracts and managing key client relationships. The position requires both commercial drive and technical understanding, with full product training and support provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within the rail sector
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and clients
  • Develop proposals and tenders, taking a proactive role in closing opportunities
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, representing their needs internally
  • Provide accurate forecasts, pipeline updates and client feedback
  • Represent the company at industry events and exhibitions
The ideal candidate will bring:
  • Proven experience in sales or business development, ideally within rail, engineering or construction
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
  • A proactive, tenacious approach with a track record of achieving sales targets
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
